Riesling Renano is a white grape variety from which a fruity and characterful wine is obtained. Originally from Germany, it then spread to Alsace, Austria, Italy, Slovenia and Hungary; today it is produced in many places in the world, including Argentina and Australia.
Among the regions where the most renowned Rieslings are produced, to mention the German valleys crossed by the rivers Reno, Main, Nahe, Moselle, Saar and Ruwer. Due to the morphological characteristics of the territory, the vineyards of this region often have steep slopes which favor the exposure of plants to sunlight; this gives the wine a very appreciated intensity and bouquet. Thanks to the northern latitude of this area and the volcanic characteristics of the territory, the Riesling produced in Germany is characterized by the balance between acidity, sweetness and alcohol content.
Cultivated outside the area, it tends to maintain its original characteristics. There is also a grape variety called "Riesling Italico".
The wine is straw-colored with greenish reflections. The bouquet is fruity, with hints of peach and apricot. Typical not only of this grape variety but of all those "beyond Cortina" is to give the final product hints of diesel oil - hydrocarbons (varietal aromas).
